AI Fever Cools | Sending Nasdaq 100 Into $1 Trillion Tailspin

“There’s a pretty insane amount of money being spent. Maybe it’ll pay off in a few years. But I think investors realize that the payoff is going to take time to materialize, and the hyper scalers earnings are being hurt in the short term by how much they’re spending on it.”

Hi, I have a question about QQQ big money index. Last week Nasdaq had a big drop but I see the big money index chart still shows up trend (from 45% to 60% roughly). How could it go up instead of down ? Could you help explain ?
Hey Jack, The BMI tracks 1500 or so stocks. If more are under accumulation compared to those getting sold, it will rise. The reason the BMI is rising is due to small-cap inflows. If you look at the BMI overlaid against the Russell 2000 you'll note the higher correlation.
Hi, You said QQQ Big money index still grew while nasdaq composite experienced big drop was because of small cap inflows. But QQQ usually doesn't have small cap stocks, right ?
Hey Jack, We only have 1 Big Money Index which tracks roughly 1500 stocks. Whether you MAP the BMI over QQQ or IWM, it'll return the same reading. A rising BMI is due to small-caps seeing inflows.
